Stories are of great importance to me, they make the world a fruitful place, creating interest, excitement, mystery and most of all, diversity. They make what would otherwise be something plain and insignificant, something fascinating and special. For instance, to the eye of ignorance, a homeless man may simply be what he is on the surface, visibly deshevelled and unkempt, an outcast to the dominant ideology of our civilization and therefore unworthy. However, to the eye of the perceptive, the stories he has to tell of his experiences and his past make him something exceptional and brave. The same would apply to any object, landscape or building, the history and/or present activity associated with it makes it characteristic and in away, beautiful. With all of this in mind, I practice documentary photography and always try to capture the physicality of the subject as well as the acquired, static peculiar haunting of the past it bears.
